Description

Detailed Description HONEST WORKING PAWNEE - FRESH 2020 RESTORATION, LOW TIME, PRICED FOR THE OPEN SPAR AD 1971 Piper PA-25-235 Pawnee (Restricted), C-GAJE, s/n 25-5395 (originally N8931L). Only 5,305 hrs TT - roughly half of fleet-typical time for a working Pawnee. Same Saguenay family-farm owner since 2006, continuously maintained with complete airframe, engine, propeller and journey logs on hand. MAJOR REFURBISHMENT (July 2020, Aviatech Maintenance): aircraft fully disassembled; lower fuselage 4130 tubes replaced; new stabilizer frame; new drag wires; complete re-cover in Ceconite 102 and full Endura repaint; new LP Aero windshield; all pulleys replaced; re-weighed. ENGINE: Lycoming O-540-B2C5, 235 hp - 575 SMOH since Dec 2011 major overhaul by Aéro Atelier C.M. (six new cylinder kits, overhauled carb and mags, new alternator and starter - Authorized Release Certificate on file). July 2025 compressions 78/78/76/75. Factory-rebuilt magnetos installed June 2025. PROPELLER: McCauley 1A200/FA, overhauled Feb 2012 (~575 since), inspected and dressed at every annual; new spinner dome 2018. RECENT UPGRADES: Alaska Bushwheel ABI-3200-3 tailwheel (STC SA01233SE, 2022) • New 406 MHz ELT (ACK E-04, 2024) • New main tires (2023). THE STRAIGHT STORY ON THE SPAR AD: Canada automatically adopted the ANAC wing spar AD (RA 2024-05-01 R1) and the initial inspections are open, so the aircraft cannot currently be returned to service on Canadian registration. The FAA has not adopted an equivalent AD (NPRM only, Docket FAA-2025-3990). Your options: (1) US buyers - export on a ferry permit and operate on an N-number; (2) Canadian buyers - complete the spar inspection program and fly it here; (3) as-is/where-is for parts or project. Priced accordingly. Last annual July 1, 2025. Located St-Ambroise (Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean), Quebec. CAWIS AD printout, overhaul certificates, STC paperwork and a full third-party logbook report available to serious buyers. US$49,900 OBO / CA$70,000 OBO. Flown roughly 50-70 hrs per spray season through 2024 by the same family farm that has owned it since 2006 - last flight September 2024, annual completed July 1, 2025. Full records inventory: airframe, engine, prop, and journey logs from 1971, original Piper factory W&B, TCDS, STC paperwork, overhaul certificates, and CAWIS AD printout. Be aware: the ANAC wing spar AD (RA 2024-05-01 R1) initial inspection is open - mandatory in Canada, not yet adopted by the FAA (NPRM pending, Docket FAA-2025-3990). US buyers can export on a ferry permit and operate on an N-number; Canadian buyers should budget for the spar inspection program; parts buyers welcome as-is/where-is. No leading-edge repair history in the logs - the primary spar-replacement trigger - and a full third-party regulatory analysis is available to serious buyers. Red Beacon Aeronautical can manage export logistics, ferry permit, and paperwork. US$49,900 OBO / CA$70,000 OBO. Priced well below AD-clear comparables - the discount is the AD, and it's fully documented. Here's the airframe detailed description for the Trade-A-Plane listing: AIRFRAME - 5,305.3 HRS TT (at annual, July 1, 2025) The heart of this listing is the complete structural restoration performed July 2020 by Aviatech Maintenance (DMA 27-13, Alma, QC) at 5,047 hrs TTAF: aircraft fully disassembled and stripped of fabric; lower fuselage 4130 steel tubes replaced with new Univair stock; stabilizer frame replaced new (P/N U54274-000); wing drag wires and flap wire replaced new; complete re-cover in Ceconite 102 per STC SA2666NM; full repaint in the Endura process (white/blue/silver grey); new LP Aero Plastics windshield with 8130-3; all wing and fuselage pulleys replaced; new cabin window and door plexiglass; compass swung; aircraft re-weighed (1,770 lb). This is effectively a new-condition covering and structure on a mid-time airframe. Since the refurb: new wing strut and fuel shut-off cable (2021), R/H master cylinder seal kit and wing fairing strut repair (2021), new landing an
