It features the company's patented retractable folding propeller - a system that allows the powerplant to be fully stowed during soaring operations, eliminating propeller drag and delivering a glide performance well above comparable aircraft. Powered by a Rotax engine driving a variable-pitch prop, the S12G is fully capable of self-launching from any general aviation airport and transitioning to unpowered soaring at altitude.
