Description

Detailed Description 1965 CESSNA 310J - N3154L Low-time 310J at 4,199 hours total airframe time. Fresh right engine at 19.8 hours since major overhaul, and a left engine whose bottom end was renewed 285 hours ago by Corona Aircraft Engines. Upgraded R-model instrument panel with GNS 430 with WAAS, HSI, and S-Tec 50 two-axis autopilot with altitude hold. Useful load: 1,687 lbs, 130 gallons of fuel and GAMIjectors on both engines. Hangared throughout its life in dry Northern California. The aircraft normally flies my family cross country around the western states. Damage History In 2015 the aircraft separated from a tow bar during ground handling and rolled into a ditch, resulting in a prop strike. The left engine was removed and sent to Corona Aircraft Engines for teardown inspection. Work performed: crankshaft ground and polished; counterweights, counterweight pins and bushings replaced, new crank and rod bearings; crankcase was reconditioned- effectively a bottom-end overhaul. The left propeller was overhauled at the same time by Stockton Propeller. The horizontal stabilizer was replaced with a serviceable used unit, which carries minor hail dimpling. Logbook entries covering the incident, the engine teardown, and the propeller overhaul are photographed and posted here. I know of no other damage history. AIRFRAME Total time: 4,199.0 hours Annual inspection due: March 2027 Logbooks: Since 2000 Paint and interior: original era, approximately 40 years old, hangared throughout - honest 5/10, see photos. Priced accordingly. Useful load: 1687 lbs Fuel: 130 gallons total, ENGINES - Continental IO-470, 260 horsepower each, 1,700-hour time between overhauls Right: 19.8 hours since overhaul. Overhauled according to Continental Mandatory Pats Replacement in 2026 by myself, an A&P. Components were overhauled by reputable shops and assembled by me. The overhaul was necessary due to low compressions and a bad camshaft. See logbooks photographed in this listing. Left: 1,058.2 hours since major overhaul. At 773 hours since overhaul, following the 2015 incident, the engine went to Corona Aircraft Engines for teardown inspection and received the bottom-end work described above. That work has approximately 285 hours on it. Cylinders and top end remain at 1,058.2 hours since overhaul. Invoice and logbook entries available. Compressions as follows, #1 72/80, #2 73/80, #3 75/80, #4 77/80, #5 80/80, #6 51/80. PROPELLERS Three-blade Hartzell, P/N PHC-J3YF-2UF. 562.2 hours since new, left propeller 285.2 hours since overhaul. Overhauled in 2015 by Stockton Propellers, concurrent with the engine teardown.
