Description

The Aithre nasal pillow mask is novel fusion of a cannula and mask and the first of its kind in aviation.  Designed for use in the mid-to-high teens, where effective oxygen delivery is critical and where cannulas tend to be less effective, the nasal pillow mask comfortably seals around the nostrils to minimize atmospheric diffusion while exposing the mouth area to headset microphone use. A lightweight cushion foam head strap extends around the crown of the head with zero interference with headset earcup seals.  A lightweight small aluminum/plastic pivot diluter arm and formed nasal pillow is gently but firmly held in place by the head strap. A standard Aithre silicone cannula tube is provided to extend up to 7 feet to the nearest oxygen port.  Being made from platinum cured silicone, the 6 mm OD tubing will fit most modern CPC style cannula plug barbs, including those of Aithre, Mountain High, and Precise Flight. No need to retrofit the pillow mask with a less desirable microphone! Unlike full masks, the Aithre nasal pillow mask makes it easy to conduct radio communications without expensive microphone retrofits.  If you own an expensive noise cancelling headset with a noise cancelling microphone, the Aithre nasal pillow mask defines a space around the mouth to make its continued use possible.
