Description

This 2005 Diamond DA40-180 Star (registration ZK-DAE) is a well-presented, Garmin G1000-equipped example of Diamond's popular four-seat composite tourer. With its Lycoming IO-360 overhauled in August 2024 and showing just 290 hours since overhaul against a 2,200-hour TBO, it presents outstanding value in a modern glass-cockpit aircraft. The DA40 combines the safety of a carbon-fibre composite airframe and outstanding cockpit visibility with docile, forgiving handling. The fully integrated Garmin G1000 flight deck features dual displays, GPS/NAV/COM, engine and fuel monitoring, and a Bendix/King KAP 140 autopilot, complemented by a Garmin GDL 69 datalink and GTX Mode S transponder. Maintained to the manufacturer's maintenance program and operated by the New Zealand International Commercial Pilot Academy (NZICPA), it is ideally suited to private touring, IFR training or flying school operations.
