Accident & incident history

1996-05-05 Accident · Somerset, PA Damage: Substantial NTSB · NYC96LA099
Reported aircraft: Elves Rotorway Exec 90 — a different aircraft that carried the N162AK registration before this airframe.
Probable cause: the kit manufacturer's inadequate design of a throttle bushing, which resulted in insufficient clearance after the bushing became heated, restricted throttle movement, lack of engine response, hard landing, gear (skid) collapse, and rollover.
