Accident & incident history

2003-10-11 Accident · Santa Teresa, NM Damage: Substantial NTSB · DEN04LA007
Reported aircraft: Aviat Pitts S2B — a different aircraft that carried the N331DM registration before this airframe.
Probable cause: the instructor's improper in-flight planning/decision making and fuel mismanagement which resulted in fuel starvation/exhaustion, the loss of engine power and the subsequent forced landing. Contributing factors include the instructor's inadequate preflight planning/preparation and the lack of suitable terrain for a forced landing.
2000-10-21 Accident · Leesburg, FL Damage: Minor NTSB · MIA01LA012B
