Reported aircraft: Schleicher Asw 27
Probable cause: The pilot's inadvertent deploying of the spoilers, while on final approach, resulting in the glider descending and impacting trees.
1995-10-22 Accident · Albuquerque, NM Damage: Substantial NTSB · FTW96TA021
Reported aircraft: Beechcraft 95 — a different aircraft that carried the N661T registration before this airframe.
Probable cause: THE PILOT'S IMPROPER INFLIGHT DECISION TO MAKE A LANDING ON AN UNLIT RUNWAY AND HIS FAILURE TO MAINTAIN DIRECTIONAL CONTROL OF THE AIRPLANE. FACTORS WERE THE INOPERATIVE RUNWAY LIGHTS, BRIGHT LIGHTS FROM SURROUNDING AREAS, AND THE PILOT'S ATTENTION BEING DIVERTED DURING THE LANDING FLARE.
