Accident & incident history

2000-05-14 Accident · Wake Forrest, NC Damage: Substantial NTSB · MIA00LA156
Reported aircraft: Asselyn CH701 — a different aircraft that carried the N942PS registration before this airframe.
Probable cause: The pilot's improper fuel management during a cross country flight resulting in a loss of engine power due to fuel exhaustion, and his failure to achieve the proper touchdown point during a forced landing. This resulted in the pilot forcing the airplane onto the ground hard, and subsequent separation of the landing gear.
1993-03-03 Accident · Durham, ME Damage: Substantial Minor injury NTSB · BFO93LA042
Reported aircraft: Asselyn Xenair CH701 — a different aircraft that carried the N942PS registration before this airframe.
Probable cause: THE PILOT'S INADEQUATE COMPENSATION FOR WIND CONDITIONS AND FAILURE TO MAINTAIN DIRECTIONAL CONTROL AFTER LIFT-OFF. FACTORS RELATED TO THE ACCIDENT WERE: THE UNFAVORABLE WIND CONDITION AND PROXIMITY OF THE POWER LINE.
