Reported aircraft: Navion Nav4 — a different aircraft that carried the N5235K registration before this airframe.
Probable cause: the pilot's inadequate preflight planning, improper fuel consumption calculations, and selection of the auxiliary fuel tank for landing, which resulted in a loss of engine power due to fuel starvation, and forced landing in trees. A factor in this accident was the pilot's lack of total experience in type of aircraft.
1966-12-24 Accident · Boise Id, 12 Damage: Substantial NTSB · 3 4135
Reported aircraft: Navion A — a different aircraft that carried the N5235K registration before this airframe.
