Accident & incident history

1994-05-24 Accident · Fredericksburg, VA Damage: Substantial NTSB · NYC94LA092
Reported aircraft: Cessna 172N
Probable cause: The pilot's premature lift-off, resulting in an inadvertent stall/mush back onto the runway, and the pilot's failure to maintain directional control during the aborted takeoff, which resulted in the airplane veering off the runway and colliding with a dirt bank. A factor in this accident was the pilot's lack of recent flying experience.
