Accident & incident history

2012-07-27 Accident · Adrian, MI Damage: Substantial NTSB · CEN12FA487
Reported aircraft: Mooney M20TN
Probable cause: An initial nose-pitch-up event and out-of-trim condition, the reason for which could not be determined because the examinations of the airplane did not reveal any anomalies that would have precluded normal operation. Contributing to the accident was the pilot s failure to use the manual trim wheel to reset the pitch trim.
2009-06-20 Accident · San Jose, CA Damage: Substantial NTSB · WPR09LA302
Reported aircraft: Mooney M20TN
Probable cause: The pilot's improper landing flare in gusting wind conditions resulting in a collision with an airport sign.
2000-08-18 Accident · Kennebunkport, ME Damage: Substantial Fatal injury NTSB · IAD00FA076
Reported aircraft: Piper PA-32R-301 — a different aircraft that carried the N411JL registration before this airframe.
Probable cause: Fracture of the #4 connecting rod for undetermined reasons, which resulted in a loss of engine power. A factor was the forced ocean ditching.
